The key to confidence in the kitchen starts with mastering basic knife skills. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn about selecting and sharpening your knives, as well as the basics of chopping, dicing and mincing – all while whipping up several delicious, farm fresh dishes! The class will begin with a farm tour, then you’ll help harvest veggies + herbs that we’ll use to practice our knife skills. We will dice, slice and chiffonade our way through a variety of produce and transform them into a few seasonal dishes, which we will sit down to enjoy together at the end of the workshop.

In this class we will cover the following:

• Learn about our organic growing practices and learn more about harvesting different veggies + herbs

• Different types of knives and their functions

• How to properly hone and sharpen your knives

• How to safely chop, dice, mince and more on a variety of different types of produce

• Make (and eat!) several delicious farm fresh dishes using your new knife skills :)

More information about this workshop:

• LOCATION: Farmbelly HQ (4500 Lloydtown Rd, Mebane, NC 27302). The farm is located 15 minutes west of Carrboro, 20-25 minutes from Chapel Hill and Hillsborough, and 35 minutes from Durham.

• CLASS SIZE: The max class size is 10 people.

• WHAT TO WEAR / BRING: Please note this workshop takes place entirely outside (indoor restroom available). Please wear closed-toe shoes, and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty… you’ll be on a farm, after all! We also recommend bringing a hat/sunglasses and a water bottle.

• REFUND POLICY: Payments for classes are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you purchased a ticket and can no longer attend, we are not able to reimburse you for the ticket, but you are welcome to sell your ticket / have someone else attend in your place (just please let us know the name/contact info for the new participant).

• INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: In the case of severe inclement weather, the workshop will be rescheduled. If you are not able to attend the rescheduled date, your ticket will be refunded.
