This class is foundational for anyone looking to sharpen up their knife skills and learn more about growing, sourcing, preparing, and cooking with seasonal and local produce! In this fun hands-on workshop, we’ll start with a full farm tour, everyone will help harvest veggies, herbs, and fruit from the garden, and then we’ll make several vibrant fall dishes that we will sit down and enjoy together.
During this class, we will cover:
How to source the best local produce when shopping at the farmers' market
Tips and tools for reducing food waste
Hands-on knife skills lesson
How to harvest, store, chop, and cook with fresh veggies & herbs
How to make homemade vinaigrettes (without needing a recipe)
The art of making beautiful, delicious, and decidedly UN-BORING seasonal salads
More information about this workshop:
LOCATION: Farmbelly HQ (4500 Lloydtown Rd, Mebane, NC 27302). The farm is located 15 minutes west of Carrboro, 20-25 minutes from Chapel Hill and Hillsborough, and 35 minutes from Durham.
CLASS SIZE: The max class size is 10 people.
WHAT TO WEAR / BRING: Please note this workshop takes place entirely outside (indoor restroom available). Please wear closed-toe shoes, and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty… you’ll be on a farm, after all! We also recommend bringing a hat/sunglasses and a water bottle.
REFUND POLICY: Payments for classes are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you purchased a ticket and can no longer attend, we are not able to reimburse you for the ticket, but you are welcome to sell your ticket / have someone else attend in your place (just please let us know the name/contact info for the new participant).
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: In the case of severe inclement weather, the workshop will be rescheduled. If you are not able to attend the rescheduled date, your ticket will be refunded.
